Bio-medical researches - What is the right or good thing to do

Bio-medical researches involve experiments which are conducted on animal participants as a result these animals are exposed to grave risk of death or permanent impairment of their faculties. As the animals cannot protest against the torturous degrading treatment or punishment during scientific treatment, it should be mandatory for all researchers to consider animal care and welfare. Substantial amount of funds must be allotted to cover all foreseeable and unforeseeable risks by providing for remedial action and comprehensive aftercare, including treatment during and after the research or experiment, in respect of any effect that the conduct of research or experimentation may have on the animals and also ensure that immediate recompense and rehabilitative measures are taken in respect of all affected, if and when necessary.

The purpose, of research is that it should be directed towards the increase of knowledge and about the human condition in relation to its social and natural well being of all species on our planet. All research is directed towards betterment of all especially the least advantaged so at all stages of research  the proposal i.e., research design and experimentation, declaration of results and use of the results thereof, should bear in mind dangers, the potential uses and abuses of the experiment and its results, and above all ensure the safety of the biosphere.

The proposal of research must be considered by an appropriate and responsible body of persons who are external to the particular research must ensure the research is necessary for the advancement of knowledge and for the benefit of all members of the human species and for the ecological and environmental well being of the planet. Each research shall include an in-built mechanism for compensation for the animal participants through appropriate means.

All ongoing biomedical research should be in accordance with the international guidelines wherever applicable and the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of the WHO available at  HYPERLINK httpwww.who.int www.who.int or comply with the UK legislation on the use of animals in scientific procedures (1986 Act). Researchers should be responsible for all aspects of the welfare and safety of the research participants and be sensitive to wellbeing of the planet.
